Göcseji Village Museum, Zalaegerszeg

About this venue

Göcseji Village Museum, Zalaegerszeg is an open-air ethnographic collection that has welcomed visitors since 1968. Its grounds hold forty structures, among them houses, a wooden church, stables, barns, pigsties, a pálinka distillery hut, vineyard hillside cellars and roadside crosses, along with several hundred furnishings. Most buildings were moved from small villages in Göcsej and rebuilt beside a Zala backwater; the watermill includes an 18th-century wooden north section and a south half from 1902. The museum has a 4.7 rating from 1792 reviews and wheelchair-accessible parking, entrance and toilet. Planners can ask about private hire.
