Sports club venues in Lake Balaton

Halls, campuses and a golf course compared

Kiss Szilárd Sportcsarnok in Siófok states handball, indoor football, martial arts, dance competitions, gala evenings, e-sports events, concerts and conferences among the events it can host, with 1,400 spectators for handball and close to 3,000 at other events. In Balatonfüred, Balaton Leisure and Conference Center has an air-conditioned 1107 m2 main hall with 712 seats in the stands and further floor seating, used for conferences, concerts, theatre and sport events.

The National Handball Academy Sports Hall of Fame in Balatonboglár pairs a 200-person conference room, divisible into three, with a 120-seat restaurant and a rehabilitation section. Balaton Golf Club in Balatonudvari states business meetings and lists a 90 sqm conference room with daylight, sound system, beamer and screen. Zánkai Sport- és Rendezvényközpont in Zánka names corporate events, conferences and sports competitions, including events with several thousand participants.

Matching the programme to the site

Decide first whether the day is watched or played. A hall with stands suits a tournament or a gala, while a campus with accommodation and meals carries a multi-day camp. Zánka states accommodation, meals and indoor spaces for autumn, winter and spring, and Lelle Beach Club in Balatonlelle presents itself as a base for sports camps, corporate events and training sessions, with paddle, kayak, canoe and cycling in its profile.

Accessibility is worth checking against the guest list: the Balatonfüred hall, the Balatonboglár campus, the Siófok hall, the golf club and Zánka list wheelchair-accessible parking and entrance, while Lelle Beach Club lists only a wheelchair-accessible car park. Confirm in writing what private hire covers, which spaces are included and who provides catering and technical equipment.

Getting the numbers and spaces right

Ask for the layout of each space rather than a single capacity figure: the Balatonfüred hall separates stand seats from floor seating, and the Balatonboglár conference room changes shape with mobile walls. A sports hall set for a match and the same hall set for a gala evening hold different crowds, so the arrangement belongs in the agreement.
