Sports club venues in Balatonfüred

A conference complex against a ski school park

The Balaton Leisure and Conference Center on Horváth Mihály utca is the larger option. Its air-conditioned main hall of 1107 m2 has 712 seats in the stands and space for a further 400-600 seats on the floor, and the venue says it hosts conferences, concerts, theatre performances and sport events. The complex also holds an outdoor stage, a cinema, a sports hall and the municipal swimming pool with a 33-metre pool and a teaching pool.

The Balatonfüredi Síiskola - Forrás Sportpark at Nagyfenyődűlő u. is a different proposition: an event venue and sports complex that runs as a ski school, with ski and snowboard instruction for children and adults on a plastic practice slope. Its own description concentrates on the ski school, so the site reads as a working sports location rather than a conference building. The municipal pool at Horváth Mihály u. 66/b belongs to the conference centre and can be considered alongside it.

Matching the space to the programme

The conference centre states that it hosts conferences, concerts, theatre performances and sport events, and its 300 m2 air-conditioned room serves smaller gatherings such as family and friends' get-togethers, weddings and conferences, so a large plenary and a smaller side session can sit in one complex. The sports hall and outdoor stage widen the options for sport events and concerts. For the ski school park, the advertised activity is instruction, so the usable event spaces are not described in the listing.

Accessibility matters when guests arrive in numbers: the conference centre lists a wheelchair-accessible car park, entrance and toilet, and the municipal pool lists an accessible car park and entrance. Ask each venue what private hire covers, which rooms are included and what the site can provide for your occasion, since a public pool or a working ski school is not by itself proof of private hire.

What to settle with the venue

Two of the three sites publish figures that help with layout: the conference hall's 712 stand seats and 400-600 floor seats, and the pool's 33-metre and teaching pools. Use these as the starting point for a floor plan, then confirm with the venue which spaces are included in a hire and how the sports facilities relate to an event. For the Forrás Sportpark, the listing describes a ski school, so the event spaces, capacity and what the site provides all need to be established with the venue.
