About this venue
Szvetics-Sigray-ház, also known as Európa-ház, is a historic building in Kőszeg, Vas county, at Chernel u. 14. Its medieval origins were later enriched with Renaissance and Baroque elements. Over the centuries it was home to Jakab Sigray, director of the Society of Reformers, and in the 1930s housed a graphology office run by the youth author Sándor Tatay. Since 2014 it has been the seat of the Institute of Advanced Studies, which carries out research and education. The house hosts conferences, research programmes, exhibitions and cultural events, and planners can ask about private hire.
