University venues in Hungary

A castle courtyard, a library and a rooftop garden

Óvári Castle in Mosonmagyaróvár is a castle building that has housed agricultural higher education for more than 200 years and is home to the Albert Kázmér Faculty of Széchenyi István University. Its renovated courtyard and surroundings serve as a venue for exclusive events, and the venue itself states exhibitions and weddings as occasions. The South Transdanubian Regional Library and Knowledge Centre in Pécs is a library and conference venue with room rental, a café and a restaurant on site.

In Budapest, the CEU Nádor Event Center in District V offers a 400-seat auditorium, breakout rooms for 16 to 75 guests and a rooftop garden, with wheelchair-accessible entrance, seating and toilets. The CEU Nador 15 building on the same street is described by the university as an event rental space. MTA TABT Szegedi Akadémiai Bizottság (SZAB Székház) in Szeged is an event venue and conference centre that also lists bed & breakfast accommodation, so meetings and overnight stays can be discussed with one team. Calvary Theological College in Vajta is a theological institution and conference centre with accessible parking and entrance.

Matching the room to the programme

Start with the programme, not the building: a ceremony and a reception need different rooms, and a conference with parallel sessions needs divisible spaces. Ask each venue what it provides itself and what it expects clients to bring; the CEU Nádor Event Center, for example, states that it provides essential services while allowing clients to bring in their own trusted partners. For a venue that does not list event types, such as Calvary Theological College, describe your occasion and ask what rooms and technical equipment are available.
