Conference centers in Hajdú-Bihar County

Debrecen institutions and spa-town hotels

In Debrecen, the Kölcsey Centre works as a conference venue in a complex shared with Hotel Lycium****, with a direct passage between the two. The Debrecen Regional Committee of the Hungarian Academy of Science (DAB) on Thomas Mann utca is a convention center built for conferences and similar professional gatherings. Csokonai Étterem on Kossuth utca is a Hungarian restaurant that states conferences alongside weddings and gala dinners.

In Hajdúszoboszló the options are hotels. Hunguest Béke states a plenary hall for 300 and section rooms for 30 to 90, with a combined capacity of 540 for conferences and workshops. Hungarospa Thermal Hotel has an air-conditioned conference room seating 80 and catering from coffee breaks to gala dinners. Hotel Atlantis is a hotel and conference centre with 96 rooms and suites.

Matching the room to the programme

Decide first whether the day needs a plenary hall, section rooms or a single conference room, because the venues differ exactly there. Hunguest Béke is the one that states both a large hall and smaller section rooms, while Hungarospa Thermal Hotel names a single 80-seat conference room. Where the venue also runs a restaurant, ask how catering and the sessions fit together in time.

Accessibility is worth checking against your delegates. Kölcsey Centre, the DAB building and Csokonai Étterem all list wheelchair-accessible parking, entrance or toilet, so a mixed group can be planned around them. For a multi-day event, weigh a hotel base with rooms and parking against a city-centre institution with no stated accommodation.

What to settle with the venue

A stated conference use does not by itself mean the space can be hired privately for your group, so confirm private hire, the room layout, capacity and technical needs with the venue. Ask about catering where a restaurant is part of the house, and about parking for delegates arriving by car.
